Okay folks, here's a new fic I've been working on. Just the beginning, hope you like!
Title: Swallowed by the City (please help, need new title!)
Author: PopularGlinda
Rating: G, so far
Summary: The events and emotions the group endures after Elphaba doesn't return to Shiz from the Emerald City
Disclaimer: The characters, setting, etc etc do not belong to me (I wish they did tho) so don't sue me. Please.

“Nessa...Nessarose? I need to talk to you...” Glinda said, almost at a sighing whisper, through the door to Nessa’s chamber.
“Oh, you’re back! Galinda—I mean, Glinda. I always forget that the “uh” is gone...Oh, Nanny is down with the Amas. I can’t stand up, come in then.”
Glinda opened the heavy wooden door and stepped into the small room that Nessarose shared with Nanny. Nessa was sitting in a chair with a book open on her lap. However does she turn the pages? Glinda asked herself. Nessa looked up from the velum tome and smiled.
“What is it, Glinda? What was so important?” Nessarose asked, in her unnaturally sweet voice, her perfect white teeth starting to chew on her rose colored bottom lip.
“Listen, Nessa. I just got back from the Emerald City, obviously...”
“Yes,” Nessarose replied, nodding her head slightly. Suddenly she noticed the absence of her moss hued older sister. “Where’s Elphie? In the buttery, getting a bun? That would be just like her. Get food, and then say hello to your sister. Well, no matter. I’ll see her soon—“
“Not very soon...”Glinda said, mostly to herself.
“Pardon? I missed what you just said...”
“Nessa, Elphaba didn’t come back with me. She stayed in the city,” Glinda said, struggling to get the words out.
“W-What?” Nessarose. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, her face losing all color whatsoever.
“We were heading towards the carriage and I turned to help her into the compartment from the mounting tread. She said she wasn’t coming back...”
“I begged and pleaded with her to come back, so she could be with me...and you...and, everyone else. But, you know how Elphie is. Stubborn as a donkey. Not a Donkey, mind you. Just a regular donkey,” Glinda explained, trying to push the tears back, so they wouldn’t spill over her eyelids – and wreck her perfected mascara. She had to stay strong, for both Nessarose’s and her own sake.

“I’ve come to say good-bye. I’m not going back with you to Crage Hall. I’ll find a place to study on my own. I’ll not be part of – Madame – Morrible’s – school – again.”
“I begged and pleaded with her to come back, so she could be with me...and you...and, everyone else. But, you know how Elphie is. Stubborn as a donkey. Not a Donkey, mind you.
