Ok, this is my first fan fic, so please be kind!
I do not claim any ownership of these characters!
This is the untold story of the monkeys of Oz!
Oh boy, here it goes . . .
Chapter 1
Chik was swinging from tree to tree in the Great Gilliken Forest. He was late for his grandparents’ anniversary party. “Why exactly do I have to go?” He had asked his mother that morning. “Sweet Oz! Your own grandparents have been wed for 50 years and you can’t make an appearance for their party!” He would much rather climb the trees with his friends. Why should he have to listen to his grandpa tell old stories from his boring past? He was just coming from his Monkey pal’s tree house. Chik really hadn’t realized what time it was. He scampered from tree to tree, almost flying to his grandparent’s home.
Finally he reached the old house. It smelled of rotting wood and looked as if it came from a page of his history textbook. He was greeted with a, “WHERE WERE YOU!?” from his mother and a big hug and kiss from his grandma. Chick’s grandfather was sitting in a chair in the far corner of the room. His fur was more grey than light brown now and he wore thick glasses. His tail lay at his side as it was permanently paralyzed from some revolution many years earlier. “Well don’t just stand there, go say hello to him,” his mother urged. “Oh, all right.”
“Hi Grandpa!” . . . “Ummm . . . happy anniversary.”
In a low gruff voice his Grandfather spoke, “Yes, it is an occasion for joy, but who knows how long we will be able to celebrate with what has been happening to all the Animals of Oz!” Here he was about to go again. Nagging him about how important education is and how abusive the government is. Chik listened to his Grandpa for a while, nodding occasionally. Suddenly his Grandpa let out a sort of chirp. He looked confused and dismayed, but corrected himself almost instantly. Chik was getting use to these abnormal speaking habits, as he had heard many of his Animal teachers make similar sounds.
That night, when Chik was attending to his studies, he couldn’t remember how to do his math problems. This worried him because he was great at math! He decided to get some air because he was starting to feel weak and lightheaded. The Monkey jumped onto a nearby branch and breathed deeply. He found himself, lost in thought, remembering what his Grandfather had told him earlier. Suddenly he couldn’t remember! He started to sway and fall from his branch. His head collided with the hard ground beneath him and he lay there, unconscious.
He did not know of what had happened or what would happen. He did not know what a special role he would play in the history of Oz. He did not know that he would eventually possess a new name . . . Chistery.
sooo what do u think? should i continue?
