Ok, wrote this the other night and I'm pretty proud of it... so here it is! Please tell me what you think!
~*~*~
For the First time in her life, Glinda hate herself. She hated the dress, she hated the sparkling shoes, but most of all, she hated herself.
All her life she had just been the pretty face, just something fun to look at. She didn’t know she had a choice. She didn’t know she could make a difference
Glinda watched as the whole city loomed before her, the Wizard’s palace looking especially ominous. Her tears threatened to fall, and as she leaned forward, one did, falling to the floor of her bubble, mixing with the iridescent, soapy film, and somehow making its luminosity fade just a bit, fading, just like her memories. Drifting away and almost ceasing to exist.
She tried so hard to remember her green friend, but memories only formed partially, the rest becoming fragments of her inactive imagination.
Glinda wished the bubble to pop, mid-air, letting her fall and crash to the ground.
But then she reminded herself that such thoughts were not acceptable.
She shifted position, her heel ripping through the thin bubble, and she was falling. Not just through the sky, but through her life. She closed her eyes and waited for the impact of her fall. Nothing, just blackness.
And she was awake, trembling in Elphaba’s arms, crying.
“Oh, Elphie! I had the most horrendible dream! You were gone, for good. And I was falling…”
Elphaba cradled the small girl, stroking Glinda’s blonde curls, cooing and murmuring, comforting her to the best of her ability.
“Shh… hush now, my pretty, shh…”
