Can someone teach me to make a banner?

I am new here and I have no idea how to make a banner, or an icon, or any of that good stuff, could someone please teach me, or please please make me one? thank you SO much!

Hi there! Welcome to the board...I'm gonna be the BoZ stand in right now ;D Make sure you go on over to Rush Margins and introduce yourself so we can get to know you better! Hehe

Okay, well, first of all, it would help if you have some sort of art program (Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, even Paint etc). If you do have that then start out by making a new project with a size of 400x80 (this is for a banner), then you can select a background color, and add pictures to it, and text. As for icons, it's pretty much the same, just the size of the "project" would be 100x100.

Hi again, since we last talked on AIM, I finished your banner and icon!



To put this as your icon, click Profile on the bar underneath the Verdigris Banner, and then up in the top right hand corner click Modify. Scroll down until you get to where you choose your avatar (aka icon) click check "I have my own icon", and then copy and paste this URL into the space (but remember to add [ IMG] (Take out the space) before http:// and add [ /IMG] (take out the space) after .bmp)

To put this as your banner, stay on the Modify page and scroll down to the bottom. There should be a large white space. Simply copy and paste this URL into that space, but again, remember to add [ IMG] (take out the space) in front of http:// and add [ /IMG] (take out the space) after .bmp

I did not do it right,
i need help!
I got the banner but the icon i am having issues with!

Okay, did you check "I Have My Own Icon" (it's something like that)? If not, you have to do that, and then for the size type in 100 in each box. And then put this URL into the long box:

img.photobucket.com/albums/v122/wicked_kiddo/ALITTLEWICKEDicon.bmp

But add [ IMG] in front of http:// and then add [ /IMG] after .bmp, so it should look like:

[ IMG]==PUT URL HERE==[ /IMG] (But remember to take out the space after the brackets, otherwise it won't work. I just have to put a space there becuz it'll get messed up if I don't)

I do not think it worked, again! I did what you told me

click the box "i have my own icon" then i did the [ IMG] and [ /IMG] thing with no spaces and then put the URL and then put the width adn height and stuff and then clicked change profile and it didn't work! am I doing everything right?
