Here's my idea for a thread, and I hope the Boz will allow it. 
In order to get good at making icons, banners, etc, you need to learn from your mistakes, and sometimes ask other people if they like it, or what they think would make it better.
So I think that we should do that on this thread. You would post one piece of work (icon, banner...whatever) and others would reply with constructive criticism. Other Verdigrisians could give suggestions regarding colors, fonts, textures, frames, animations....whatever! But in order for this to be successful, let's set up a couple ground rules, m'kay?
1. Your criticism has to be useful! No, "OMG! That's the ugliest piece of crap I've ever seen!" Even if it is the ugliest icon/banner/whatever ever made, keep it nice. You can't criticize without offering actual advice as to how to improve.
2. Don't post every icon you make here. That's what the general "Icons" Thread is for. Just post when you know you need help; don't show off in this thread.
3. Only post your own work. No, "OMG, look at this crappy icon I found!"
That's all! I don't have an icon to share right now. I made a really terrible icon a while ago, and it was sentenced to a life term in the recycle bin.
Someone be brave and post!

I don't have an icon that needs help currently... but I'm sure I will soon.
