It's telling the story of the characters Elphaba left behind - judging by the current title, it will be centered around Liir. It will tell the unfinished tales of those left living at the end of Wicked - Liir, Boq, Glinda, etc.

I don't know exactly what he expects to write now. There is the Oz books written by L. Frank Baum to keep in consideration. But then again, the first Wicked book wasn't in considereation either.
For: Boq was not the Tinman in the books. He was simply a munchkin who assisted Dorothy. And the Scarecrow did not leave Oz. He remained as ruler of the Emerald City.
Also, the Wicked Witch had only one eye. And DID have a water problem.
These inconsisitancies bother me about Wicked, but I love the music so much I can't help it.

Well then you need to know that book and musical are VERY different. * In the book, Boq stays as the Munchkin who assisted Dorothy and Nick Chopper is the Tin Man, as in the original. Also, Fiyero isn't the Scarecrow.* There are many other differences as well.

I would think that he would make Elphie come back alive somehow

I would think that he would make Elphie come back alive somehow I doubt it. Wicked was written as a tragedy and I don't think Maguire would want to ruin that by reversing the main tragic event. Plus it would be horribly cliche and fanfiction-like.

I would think that he would make Elphie come back alive somehow I highly doubt this. I'm fairly certain GM is going to be focusing on his other characters - particularly Liir and Nor in this novel with hints of the others like Glinda and Shell and so on.

I cannot wait! I do think it would be really strange if he did make Elphaba come back alive. It seems so different from the book. I loved the first book, I hope this one is just as good!

You really should read it. It's very different from the musical, I read the book before I saw Wicked and the musical was still so amazing. The book is much more serious.

I love the book - the front picture of my copy has fallen out because the book's been read so much - I haven't read it since October, though, so I'm forgetting some things. *sigh*
I hope the sequel has a little more information about Shell. Liir I could live with or without, but Shell is possibly one of the most intriguing characters to me. I have no idea why.
