Yeah, so I quoted my own fic for the subject, so what! hehe
Anyway, this thread is for book club ideas. We were going to start today, but since we have absolutely no structure, well... we're postponing. So come one! Come all! Give us your ideas of how to have the most swankified Wicked book club in existence! If this goes well, maybe we'll consider doing it with other Oz books as well!

Idea (maybe this isn't the place to put it, but idea): So we have a deadline by when to read a certain part of the book and maybe we have a thread where at teh end of our certain parts we all write a written part. Then we can talk about it for a while before doing the whole process again. At the end we can all come together to have one big reunion and talk about the book and maybe see Wicked. Maybe since we did a book club we can even meet the cast...you never know...it's nice to dream!

I like the idea of various deadlines. Depending on how busy people's schedules are... maybe a couple chapters at a time?

We will definitely have chapter deadlines, and those of you who have the book may have noticed that there are discussion questions at the end! I think a lot of them really require you to have read a bit of the book to answer, so we probably won't be posting them right away. Eventually, though, I'd love to see what everyone has to say to them.

We could have chapter deadlines and when we reach the end of the book, we could discuss the questions that are at the end.

I just actually started reading the book for the first time (picked it up at Barnes and Noble in the mall, when I saw the version with the pictures from the show I SCREAMED ), so I'd love to read a few chapters a night and talk about them here! That would be EXTREMELY fantasticified! ~*Jennie*~

Some of us are really busy so maybe it can be a few chapters a week or something and then we post about them on a weekend? Just a suggestion, I know I'm really busy on weeknights, especially this upcoming week since my school show and Gypsy's too are next week we're gonna be jam packed with rehearsals. When are we starting anyway?

I think we should do the discussions on the weekend to give people a chance to find time to read. I know I have a hard time finding time to read (especially when I have all these new posts to read )

Yep I agree. People lead busy lives. As for a suggestion, I think we should make a list of the similarities and differences between the characters in the book and musical (it may be good to see the parallels as well as the differences), as well as maybe a general summary for each of the chapters, in case someone couldn't read and needs to catch up at a later date, they could read the summary and then still participate in the discussion.

I think with a book club it all depends on how long you want it to take to read the book. If you want to read the whole book in say a month then divide the number of chapters by four and that's what needs to be read by the end of the week. If that is too many chapters to read in a week make it a two month project. I also think that once a date to start is actually picked, a two week notice should be given. I know most of you here are already Wicked obssessed (I mean that in a good way) but some of us, like moi, are just warming up and would probably have to go out and get whatever book the book club is going to be reading. I was also wondering if this book club is going to be just books about OZ or if it will branch out after all the Oz books are read.

Oh, we will be reading everything in the Three Queens library, don't you worry!
