In the tradition of the TV characters thread, which musical character do you most relate to and how?
I AM Marian the Librarian. Uppitty, prim, proper, correcting, but totally naive and hopelessly romantic.

Chava (Fiddler on the Roof) - Plain and simple. Intelligent. Love books. Adores her family, but longing for love, and willing to do anything for that love.
I actually had the chance to play her a few years ago...and it was a dream come true.
Other characters: Elphaba (Wicked) - Freakish older sister, intelligent, outsider who longs for love. Feels she is not worthy, but unwilling to give up on what she deems is right whether or not it is accepted as good. Is a tiny bit Wicked.
Rizzo (Grease) - No nonsence exterior, inside terrified of hurting the one she loves. A leader.
Lilli/Kate (Kiss Me Kate) - Shrewish. "Cursed." Stubborn and a tease. Diva.

hmm...
Sandy [grease] hopelessly devoted to "him" llam...umm innocent, naive, but has an edgy side Belle [beauty and the beast] loves to read, somewhat innocent, caring, and a dreamer Dorothy [wiz of oz] mainly the same reasons as above, wants to be noticed, wants to go to a faraway land and escape reality..
hmm im sure theres probably a few mroe that ill think up later...

Aside from the fact that she is a prostiute, I can really relate to Lucy from Jekyll and Hyde. That sad, lonley outsider. She is just so strong and only does what she does because she has too. She is a tragic hero in my opinion.
I DEF relate to Amneris from AIDA. I am not that materialistic, BUT I have her sense of life I think. I am spunky and unfortunatly dont see things if I dont want to see them.

There are so many... (ETA: or, there could be three...llam)
Amneris from Aida. I AM that materialistic...well, maybe not THAT materialistic, but I have my moments...
Elphaba from Wicked. According to Rory, and Bobby and pretty much anyone who really knows me and has seen the show, I have her personality, just not her skin tone.
I said that my life's dream was to play Mimi in RENT, but my dear buddy Justin told me to stop denying it, I am Maureen. (minus the bisexual part.) But he swears that some day I'm going to be calling my boyfriend Pookie...

I'm a mix of Elphaba & Glinda. I am like Elphaba because I like to read, I am often reading, I am intelligent & there are times that I like to just be alone. I am like Glinda, because I am very social & love being the center of attention.
I don't know any other Broadway plays, so Wicked is the only thing I can compare to, maybe I have a little Boq in there too, I haven't even seen Wicked...so maybe, i'm just ranting...

Glinda and Maureen. Seriously. XD
But I have a deeper, Elphie-ish side to me. I tend to start little revolutions and challenge authority at every possible moment. If something is wrong, I correct it, and wont stop until it's right. Not to mention I'm the teacher's pet to my Science teacher and read WAY too many books. But another part of me is like Nessa. I'm the only girl in my immidiate family, so I'm spoiled to a certain degree.

This is a HARD question!!! I really don't think a person themselves can determine who they are most like, because of course, if that was the case, I'd choose to be Elphaba right off the bat! But if I was in someone else's shoes looking at me... I'd probably choose... personality wise of course: Fiyero: ;D I'm a bit like him, as I tend to skim through life. I love being carefree, but at the same time, there are some points where you HAVE to be serious. I can't think of anyone else. I'm also a bit Glinda-ish. Naturally, since Fiyero and Glinda are so much alike! I'm also a bit like Elphaba, in the fact that I can fly with a broomstick. Just kidding... anyway! That's all from me

It's the E's for me: Elphaba and Eponine.
Elphie and me are like, the same person. Even though the book is very different from the play, I'm a lot like them from both. I'm an older sister (who hates her younger sister, but really loves her), I'm fierce, independent, and totally misunderstood. Besides, I "hate" romance and love (since I can never be honest with myself that I do like it), and I love to read. And I'm also very intelligent, and I sometimes have to put up with Glinda's (people who are very materialistic and self-obsessed).
I just am Eponine. I was Eponine before I was Elphie. Eponine is this "fearless" street rat, but she's not fearless, she's truly scared, but she never shows it, because she tries to look and act tough. And though you'd never think it, she'd do ANYTHING for the guy she loves, including (this is in the book) put her hand over a gun that was about to kill him, and help him find his true love, who wasn't her. And she dies for him, which is increidbly romantic and poetic, and right before she dies, she lets her toughness down to him and shows him just how romantic and loving she is.
I'm also a bit of a Kim from Miss Saigon, in the way she holds out hope for the practically impossible to happen. I hate giving up hope. My friends say that I can be too much of an optimist sometimes, but really, is that a bad thing?

Remember in Dancing Through Life, when Elphaba shows up at the party, everyone laughs at her, everything stops, and she dances all by herself? Yea...that basically summarized my life. Only recently, I've had Galinda dancing with me too. -gyps

We're like, the only girls dacing together).

Well, I don't just mean at dances. I usually don't like going to dances. I'm not entirely antisocial, but I don't even like to dance. It's a waste for me to; of money and time. I consider that part of the show as more of a metaphor/pardy; a little example. -gyps
