Alfonso did an excellent job, I agree. The whole movie seems more of a piece of art than the other two movies. There are no slow parts, which makes the movie much more fun to watch. And people would be confused about Sirius being a dog, b/c they left that out too. And how that helped him escape from Azkaban.

I LOVED it but yea a lot of my friends who didnt read the book were really lost..lol. Some parts were soo intense I was like shaking and everytime the dementors came out I got so scared for Harry that I cursed. I was dissapointed at some of the things they left our but Alfonso Cuaron did a great job and I just hope the next director is as good as him. I was really mad they didnt have the elf kitchen in the movie.. that whole thing about having to tickle the pair of the portrait to get in was so kewl. The fat lady and her opera was so great..thats something I would do..lol. I REALLY didnt like the new Dumbledore..he really bugged me. He was too energetic and not as like gentle calm and wise as Richard Harris..he looked exactly the same tho..just the way he played the part ughh. Everyone else was PERFECT though..Gary Oldman did a REALLY good job as Sirius and Emma Thompson was so funny as the phsyco proffesor lol and I am i n love with Daniel Radcliffe..

And I think the elf kitchen was in book 4 not 3 b/c I read it recently, like last week, and that was most certainly not in book 3.

I saw it last night, and really liked it a lot...I liked it much more than I had expected to. The overall feel to this movie was very different, and I think there was more humor...it wasn't as serious as the two previous films. Letty I agree with you on the new Dumbledore...I didn't like him very much at all, the way he portrayed the character didn't seem right to me. I didn't feel myself trusting him as I did Richard Harris.
But was it just me or did they leave some important things out? Lupin never did tell Harry he, James, Sirius and Peter were the ones who wrote the map, did he? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember that he did...I was waiting for Harry to ask about it but they never did mention it at all. That was a bit weird to me.

I want to see it SO bad! I'm probably going this Friday, I have exams this week so my whole weekend (except this time right now, llam) is studying, I probably wouldn't be able to go to the movies even if I wanted to. But I've heard that the 3rd is a ton of alot better than the first 2 so I'm excited.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember that he did...I was waiting for Harry to ask about it but they never did mention it at all. That was a bit weird to me. He never mentioned who the makers of the map were. That was very disappointing. I didn't really like the new Dumbledore, either. I mean, the new actor is great with his new take, but I don't think the writers stayed true to the original Dumbledore. They had him saying like random sentences of wisdom that had almost nothing to do with the scene. For example the last thing he says before the feast begins and what he says when he closes the infermary door. I did like what he said when Harry and Hermione came back from their mission. Something like "what was a success?" Dumbledore is so nice that way, hehe.

No, I didn't like the part where Dumbledore and Snape were talking while everyone slept in the great hall and Dumbledore was like "Let him sleep. For in dreams we can swim in the deepest ocean.." or something. What did that have to do with anything? Just some random Dumbledore-ian thought? Weird... And I wanted Lupin to tell him about the map, and how his father was Prongs. My friend and I decided that what we want is a Harry Potter movie that is entirely accurate. We decided we didn't care if it took four or five hours, we just wanted it to include everything and not leave out important details. On the other hand, though, I really did love the way they did the time-turning scenes...Very cool. But I thought the end was kind of dumb...just Harry flying?

I guess I feel strongly about this movie, for posting like every other time, llam! Yeah, the ending wasn't good with Harry flying. The first two did it like the book with the train. That's how the stories are connected. Now this movie won't connect with the next one b/c we never saw him go back to the Dursleys.

But I thought the end was kind of dumb...just Harry flying? Yes...I thought that was quite...odd. As my friend put it, "It just ended with Harry's big head on the screen." I was hoping they'd end it at the end of the year feast in the great hall, but oh well. Also, in the scene where Harry walks into Professor Trelawney's room (right before she makes the prediction) what was that weird beeping noise? I was a bit confused because at first I thought it was a cell phone in the audience -- one of my idiot friends down the row from me said "Hello?" really loud right before the beeping stopped, but now I'm sure it was actually in the movie.

The ending was weird, lol. I hate the fact that they changed around the plot. They should stick to the book.

Nice sig!
I love it how the actors look so much older than the characters they're playing... my dad thought Emma Watson was 17!

Yeah, they do look older than their characters. But it's rather funny that your dad thought Emma was 17. It gets harder to tell ages of children (i.e. people younger than 18) the older you get. She does look older though.
And that is such a nice sig, by the way.
