I was shopping at Ikea, and there was this sort of curio cabinet with clear glass doors. The tag said "If you got it, flaunt it!" And so that song got stuck in my head. My sister pointed out that much of Ikea's stuff is Swedish, so it related back to the song again. ("When I was just a little girl in Sweden...")

I was watching Jeopardy and one of the questions had to do with Schadenfraude. I'd never heard that before Avenue Q.

Today in school I was doing this "candle" lab...and someone was like "Would you light my candle?" So of course I started singing Rent...the song was quite appropriate for the lab ;D hah

My French class was talking about the word "sadistic" and the origins (don't remember why). That reminded me of Little Shop of Horrors: "I'm dating a semi-sadist". Also, the word sadist comes from Marquis de Sade, which is also mentioned in LSOH: "Who wants their teeth done by the Marquis de Sade?" Very interesting.

I didn't really have a broadway moment, but check the Wicked moments, cuz I'm posting there next!!

In English about a week ago one of our our vocab words was "lament" and no one knew what it was! Thanks to my superior English skills (: and my knowledge of Into the Woods, I got it! Go me! For anyone wondering, lament means mourn.

I was studying for a Bible test and I was trying to remember the difference between apodistic and casuistic laws. Apodistic laws are unconditional and are prohibitions, so I thought of the song that Idina sings in The Wild Party, "Prohibition". (Casuistic laws are conditional laws, by the way.

My sister and I were watching the really long documentary on the extras dvd of the recently released Star Wars dvd set, and they said George Lucas invested his own money in the second movie, which they said is a big no-no in the industry. We turned to each other and said "Never put your own money in the show!" thinking "and the other rule?" saying "Never put your own money in the show!" Lines from the Producers. It's really hard to imitate Nathan Lane.

Like a week ago, in Enlglish class, my teacher said something like "There's a fine line between genius and insanity." or something like that... I was like, ahh, fine line...yeah you get it.

This is one that happens to me often, but anytime someone asks, "Where are you going?" I always think," Where are you going? Can you take me with you?" (from Godspell). I also have "La Vie Boheme" moments at least once a day.

I was watching Full House the other day and Joey thought he was being kicked out. He said "I suppose you forwarded my mail to the gutter." And I thought "the gutta!" where Audrey met Orin in LSH. So I was trying to remember her lines at that part.

Ok, so today I went with my whole Studio Art class (a whopping 3 other people, it is a shame how out of 130 students in my year so few appreciate art, but anyway that is another story) to our teacher's studio in Soho (Lower Manhattan) NY. So upon arriving in her loft apartment she immediately begins showing us some of her work. Well, this one piece had pink and green stripes as a background and I was like, wow, I love it. All of a sudden, this really nice jock in my class goes, "hey, pink goes good with green" I immediately started freaking out, I was like, no way!!! He's never seen Wicked but that is sooo awesome and I couldn't have agreed with him more. Immediately I thought of Elphie and Glinda...ohh, it was so sweet! It brightened my day!

That's great! (But try to keep the Wicked moments in the Wicked moments thread - this one is for Broadway-that-isn't-Wicked moments. ) In choir today some guy started randomly singing "Seasons of Love" and I got all excited - but he was really bad and I wanted to say, "If I told you that that song was from a Broadway show, would you shut up?" Most people don't even know the origins of the songs they sing... pathetic...

I keep saying lines from shows:
FRIEND: More icons! ME: But there isn't anymore! (from Little Shop)
ME: (after returning from away) I hope you weren't too bored. (from Chicago -- when Roxie enters and Billy goes to her, ignoring Velma)
Lol...just wanted to inform you.

My history teacher told us that he wasn't going to be at class on Monday b/c of an emergency dental surgery, so everyone was happy that we don't have class. Then my teacher told everyone about Schadenfreude. No one had heard of it and I probably wouldn't have heard of it if I hadn't heard Ave. Q.
