If not, take the book to the stage door, get someone to sign it, then sell it on e-bay. That's the spirit! llam

Not to rain on parades, (and I really hope I'm proved wrong because a novelization of the show would rock)... but when you expand the image you can see that the band on the top of the cover says, "The Novel that inspired the hit Broadway Musical." That makes me believe it's the same old book with a new shiny cover...

Aww, I thought it was a tie-in or something; that would have been so cute. If GM had actually re-written parts of the book to make them like the play. It would be like one big fanfic, a fanfic written by the author itself. Damn shame that it isn't. -gyps

So there is fanfic about fanfic...what has the world come to? ;D It is billed as a tie-in both on amazon and on the offical site's newsletter. No wonder there is confusion. I don't care though. It's less then $15 so I ordered it either way.

Ok, I've google'd this, and I've checked AMAZON and B&N for more product info, and they just don't have it. So we're gonna hafta wait till next Tuesday to see if this edition is any different than the one we all know/love/already own.

hmm...I thought it was the same book, but maybe with pics and stuff from the show, but then I did a search on Amazon for similar "Tie-In" books. I know after a movie comes out based on a book, they republish the same book sometimes with a cover from the movie and so I checked "Emma" and sure enough, the ones with covers featuring the movie are called "Tie-In" editions. Which now makes me think that the only thing that makes the Wicked book a tie-in is the new cover.

Sort of like the 1939 Wizard of Oz Tie in Book, it has a movie cover & movie pics but the text is all Baum's. There have been many "Movie-editions" of the book but none have been rewritten, except in storybook form.

Even if it is the same book with a new cover , I'm still going to go out and get it because I don't have my own copy yet. Like the rest of you, I'm still intensely curious about it tho. Would those of you special ordering it let us know what it is/has when you get it?

Hehe. I may be able to solve all your problems... since I'm planning on asking mom if I can order the new edition on her credit card over the weekend. Want my old copy? (Well, this is providing you remember to bring BACK my copy from Rochester with you this weekend... tsk, tsk, tsk...)

Ok, Ozians, someone on a livejournal community managed to get a hold of the new tie-in book. All in all, it's the same book with the CD cover and 10 pages of new color pictures. They said some of them are some new pics that no one's seen before. I just thought I'd mention that so no one goes out and buys somethign they have already. Me and my funds, we know about saving. *llam* -gyps
