i was watching TV the other day and I kept hearing these WoO references. here are a couple that i remember:
1) Show: "Full House" Reference: "What, did someone drop a house on your sister?" ~Uncle Joey (the blonde, "funny" one) Episode: #159 (The Test--DJ takes her SATs)
2) Show: "That's So Raven" Reference: Raven is showing off her costumes for the school play of "The Wizard of Oz"--Eddie as the Scarecrow (FIYERO!!), Chelsea as WWotW (ELPHIE!!) and Cory as a Munchkin (BOQ??) Early in the episode, Raven shows off her new "Dorothy" mini skirt, also. Episode: #18 (If I Only Had a Job--Raven tries to save her dad's job by dressing up like a singing star)
if you think of any more REPLY!! it will be fun to hear all of 'em!

I was watching "Whose Line is it Anyway?"the other night and they were playing the game where everything has to be said in question. The topic was "The Wizard of Oz" and it was so funny!Wayne Brady was a flying monkey at one point, and Ryan asked"Do YOU represent the lollipop guild?".I was laughing really hard. Colin was the scarecrow at one point and I was like...AH FIYERO!lol

Hey ya'll! Not that this isn't a great thread, cuz it is, but I just wanted to remind everyone who has seen the show or read completely spoiled synopses of the show that (SPOILER IN BLACK) the whole Fiyero becomes the Scarecrow thing is a SPOILER!!
If we see it anymore not in black in this thread (or anywhere else, for that matter), TheBoZ advise everyone to look out for falling houses (and chastizing PMs).
Thanks everyone!

Just watched Will and Grace last night, I got season two on DVD and I watched the episode where Will has to land a high profile client or else he'll get fired. So Karen breezes in, insults his boss and then leaves and Will says
"I'm sorry about that Ben, I had no idea she was coming. Usually she sends her flying monkeys first."

They had a Wizard of Oz/Liza Minnelli reference on Roseanne. One of DJ's freinds (Elijah) who was really strange kept singing to himself, but whenever Roseanne or Dan would start singing with him he'd stop. One of the songs was "We're Off To See The Wizard". Later, Roseanne compared him to Liza Minnelli calling him "Elijah Minnelli" and Dan then started a Liza favorite "New York, New York". Then Rossane said "That's Elijah with an E!". This is a reference to Liza's song "Liza with a Z", also called "Say Liza."
Another Oz reference was on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Some of the characters on the show dressed up was the Oz gang (Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion) and later one of the characters Cheryl was watching "The Wizard of Oz" and Judy was singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow". The Miss Gultch music also played during one of the scenes.

One of the songs in Rent goes "Mark, it's the Wicked Witch Of The West your mother!" Which, if taken literally, is a bit disturbing

Well on Ally McBeal, for a little while (ironically, when Taye was on the show) whenever Ling would come in the Wicked Witch of the West music would play.
Also, not a TV show, but in "Field of Dreams" when one of the players is leaving the field and getting ready to vanish into the corn field he says "I'm melting! I'm melting!"
To add to what someone else said about "Rent," In "La Vie Boheme" Mimi and Mark say "Why Dorothy and Toto went over the rainbow: To blow off Auntie Em!"

Those sound hilarious! I saw that That's So Raven episode the other night when I was babysitting - she had the TV on the Disney channel the whole night and when I walked by the lady said "The Wicked Witch of the West will by played by-" and I whirled around and looked at it, haha. There was this one part where Raven was making up a song for the Wicked Witch of the East (her character): What is that? It's a house! Soon I'll be under it in this blouse!I wish I could've seen that Whose Line Is It Anyway? episode and that Will & Grace line is great. ;D I think it was in the 'Shrek 2' previews one of the characters said "I'm melting! I'm melting!" I don't even remember who or in what context, but for some reason I remember that.

I've seen that That's So Raven one loads of times -- at the end, Raven (who plays the Wicked Witch of the East) gets to be the costume designer as well. Chelsea (play the Witch of the West) comes in in this purple and black Witch costume with a spider on it. And I was like, "No! She's supposed to be GREEN!" Anyway, Shrek 2, Donkey starts "melting" in the rain. Not on TV but when I went to Cheddars last night, there were these four girls (a bunch of the cast of Charlotte's Web were gonig) who came in, arms linked, and the girl who's playing Charlotte laughed and said, "We were singing 'We're Off To See the Wizard' while we were coming in." I perked up immediately, and even my dad laughed.

I found another little Oz reference I found while watching Roseanne. The title of the episode was "Toto, We're Not in Kansas Anymore" and a tornado swept through thier town of Lanford. Darlene also mentioned something about the movie and Roseanne hoped that thier house would be picked up and dropped in another neighborhood. I also remember in a couple of Halloween episodes Roseanne dressed up as a witch and refered to herself as "The Wicked Witch Of The Mid-West". She wasn't green though

I remember another one.
On the PBS show "Arthur," Arthur had a dream. In the dream, there was a tornado and Arthur's school was picked up. There were a few WoO lines mentioned.
Also, in another Arthur episode, his sister DW (short for Dora Winifred) had a fight with Arthur and her mom mentioned something about a thesaurus (she needed another word for "dumbie"). DW had a dream and in the dream, Arthur was an evil wizard dreaded in the land and DW had to visit The Saurus to find out how to get rid of him. In the end, the word "dumbie" helped her and he melted into her Mary Moo-Cow cup, shrieking "I'm melting! Melting! Oh, what a world, what a world!" etc. etc.
