Yesterday at the Teen CHoice Awards..a girl named Bethany that had her arm bitten off by a shark won some type of courage award..and in her speech she said something like "I remember watching WoO when I was little and seeing that lion got is courage from the Wizard..well my wizard was Jesus Christ so thanks to him for giving me courage..."
something like that lol i thought it was sweet

On Two Guys and a Girl there was a funny quote:
Pete: Oh, Ashley, your flying monkeys were just in here looking for you. Ashley: And they left behind a munchkin.

Yep- he does. My friend works as an intern for a radio station (Z100), and she transcribes radio interiews (listens to them and types/writes them down). And they were interviewing Matthew Lillard, Seth Green and someone else (forgot his name, sorry). And they asked what CD's they are currently listening to and Matthew said a couple of CD's that I don't remember and "The original cast recording of Wicked."
Um, off-topic sorry....Just thought I'd share.

I was just watching the Opening Ceremonies on tv and I was watching a small version of the Parthenon (sp?) spinning on a float and the commentators were like "It looks like the Wicked Witch's house..." and the guy did the WWoW theme music. It was funny!

It was funny! llam, I missed hearing that! I just thought it looked like the Lincoln Memorial, since that's what building the memorial was based on.

LLAM!!! It does look like the Lincoln Memorial! I never knew that... you really DO learn something new everyday! haha! Anyway...
I have another reference to WoO... I am watchint Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Michael, one of the designers said to a yellow light fixture "I'll get you my pretty..."
Now, that I'm thinking about it, I'm finding a lot of Wicked/ WoO references on TV, etc. Jane ;D

ok, so this isn't exactly a tv refrence but...
I was taking a practice SAT, not the PSAT, a different one that doesn't show up any where, but any was, so i was taking the test and on of the reading comprehensions was talking all about how the form of films can change the emotions that a viewer has and one of the quotes that i wrote on my hand from it was...." although most of us would prefer the land of Oz to the normality of Kansas, the despiration that Dorthy feels to get back home changesour emotion and we sympithise with her, and we end up almoest hatting the magical land of oz dispite its fantisie image".... yeah, so now i can wash my hands and feel comphort in knowing that i passed the quote on to u!

It's weird how often the WoZ is mentioned on TV shows. I remember hearing quite a few in the past few days but I can't remember them...
Oh yeah! This was hilarious! I was watching "Will & Grace" and I think the plot of the show was to tell Jack's mom that he was gay. And he was listing of things that should have tipped her off through the years and one of them was like "Mom! Don't you remember that Halloween when I was Glinda the Good Witch?! Yeah, well, when I saw Batman I was WAY WAY over the rainbow" or something like that. Lol, i thought it was great.
And I was watching something on Nickelodeon like, five months ago and I'm just now remembering to post it, where they were interviewing some singing star or something -- I'd never heard of her though -- and the "Big Finale Question" was "What do you sing in the shower?" and her answer was like "Well, I really like musical theatre, so I sing a lot of show tunes...Phantom of the Opera, and Wicked! I love Wicked! *singing* Pop-uu-lar!"
Oh and on Mad TV today, they did a parody of Wizard of Oz, as though it was a scene that got cut from the movie. It started with an old woman dressed as a munchkin who introduced it, saying that it dealt with the "then-Taboo statement of inter-racial relationships" and it dealt with the Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion going down the yellow brick road and finding Jaspar the One Legged Slave. And they asked him to go to the Emerald City with them so the Wizard could give him his freedom (Scarecrow: Or maybe you should just settle for a leg...) and then Jaspar sings a song about "If He Only Had a Leg" (lol its funny) and then he decides not to go to the Wizard's Palace and Dorothy understands, saying that "She'll miss him the most of all" and then she gives him a kiss, and Jaspar gets the wrong idea and starts kissing her over and over again ... and then it gets dirty and we don't need to go into it. But yeah, it was pretty funny.
Yep, that about all I can remember!

and notice, she is STILL wearing Nessa's shoes!!!! Jeez! She needs to get over it! Haha, on the VMAs, Jessica Simpson was doing a song, but I was out of the room when they announced her name and I walked in and I see this big white circular thing coming down from the cieling and I completely freaked out, b/c I thought Kristin was doing something from Wicked ... on the VMAs haha. *Announcer's Voice: And now, from the hit musical WICKED, Kristin Chenoweth singing NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED, featuring Eminem and Missy Elliot* haha. But then I saw Jessica Simpson and got all sad, but then my friend found me ginger ale in her basement and I was happy again. Haha I'm addicted to ginger ale.

Last night on Jack and Bobby, the sectrary was saying something to the mother about a speech and the mom says "Well if you want the red shoes, hop on ur broomstick and fly"
Also on Will n Grace, Jack n Karen were fighting:
Jack: Better leave now before someone drops a house on you!
Karen: Up yours Dorothy!

Like, two seconds ago on "Whose Line", they were doing Party Quirks (aka House Party, Party Guests, like there are a million names for it) and Cathy was like, getting ready and going "Popular, I'm gonna be popular, just be perky, and I'll be popular!" And I thought about, well, Popular, duh.
