Look into other songs by the composer, or similar songs from the period. Is this a new musical about Tom Sawyer, or Big River?

Here, this is what the site says about the musical:
ACT is pleased to announce that our summer show will be The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Ken Ludwig with music by Don Schlitz.
Nominated for two Tony awards in 2001, Mark Twain's classic story comes to exuberant musical life in this Broadway adaptation of America's favorite book. The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer is the irresistible story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America. This Broadway musical version of Mark Twain's immortal novel is set in 1840 in St. Petersburg, Missouri, a bustling town on the banks of the Mississippi River.

I guess I could say that Rory and I are working on an independant project...on March 28 our college's division of Big Brothers/Big Sisters is putting on a variety show. Rory and I have decided to lip sync...
POPULAR! We've been coming up with ideas for the past two days, and tonight at rehearsal for the other show, as we kept referring to ourselves as Elphie and galinda, our director was like "I see we have some L. Frank Baum scholar's here." And I was like "Not really, we just saw Wicked last night..." Walking back to the dorms Rory was like, "Who's L. Frank Baum?" and I was like, "Dear sweet oz, you really ARE Galinda!"

But, hey, if that makes me like Galinda, then YAY! She's so great!

Heh...I can top that, even though it's not Wicked related.
I was working lights for a production my high school wrote called "Tale of the Century" which was basically a musical review of the past 100, but not musical as in broadway. One scene was Di and Charles' Wedding done to Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and The Wright Brother's flight to "I Believe I Can Fly."
One of the scenes highlighted JFK, Martin Luther King, and John Lennon's words. Three girls stood down stage, dressed in black, bathed in blue light as they each took turns reciting poems, speeches, and lyrics before the rest of the cast joins them to sing "Imagine."
Show goes great, get in the car, and my parents were all "Oh it was so much better then we thought it would be. We were so worried it would suck because it was written by high schoolers yada yada yada." Then they go into their favorite skits, and the most loved was the Imagine scene. My sister, who absolutely adores music, I mean, it's her life, says something along the lines of "Yeah, it was great. I love that song. I got JFK and MLK, but who was the third one?" "John Lennon" by dad answered. "Oh...who's that?"
I seriously wanted to kill her. My father plays the fab four all the time. *le sigh* Oh well. She is my little Nessa/Galinda hybrid.
Errr...topic. Still working on the cabaret, but haven't had rehearsal in a month. Haha...gotta work on the solo I want.

In Bugsy I play Fat Sam (even tho i'm like that one skinny kid in plays, as i'm sometimes known) and he's a gang leader...i'm a pacifist tho...THIS ROLE IS SO NOT ME!!
In The Kid Inside, I sing a song called "Bye Room" from the musical John and Jen and I'm in a duet...no, group song. it's Time to Change from THE BRADY BUNCH!!!! WOOT!!
well, thats all for now. bye!
oh yes, i've done 15 shows total, not counting these so i guess 17. and i'm 14. i have no life hahaha

Currently doing spotlight for Charlotte's Web. The actors are all under age 13 and most of them need a lot of more work in the singing department... it's too bad the show opens this Friday...

Right now I'm in my high school's production of "The Scarlet Pimpernel." I'm playing Marguerite. It's over tomorrow. I'm so sad. Because we all had so much fun! I loved putting on a French accent. Also, starting next month I'll be playing Ariel (again) in "Footloose."

I heart musicals..
I just got back from a drama competition where I sang "Your Daddy's Son" from Ragtime..
Uhm.. shows I've done. About 2 weeks ago we did Hello, Dolly..
Ok, I've done: Nightchills (play) - Kristin Holub Phantom (kopit/yeston) - chorus Grease! - Chorus South Pacific - Chorus Steel Magnolias - Ouiser Boudreaux Godspell (the best experience of my life) - Joanne (Bless the Lord!) Hello, Dolly! - Dolly Gallagher Levi Vandegelder Scatter the Dreams (play) - Chorus
MMmmm.. and I randomly know A LOT about LOTS of shows.. so random questions are welcome in regards to auditioning ideas and stuff! I love helping out.
